Scientific Process
The scientific method is the foundation for product science, just as it is for any scientific discipline. It is the method that has led to the progress of the modern world. Understanding what it is and how it works enables one to create knowledge from observations, while keeping a rigorous skepticism about what is observed.
Most often we have learned about some of the components of the scientific method—hypotheses, testing, etc. Developed through thorough study of the history of science and decades of active application in research, we here present an operating model of the scientific method.
Put another way, the scientific method is a process for developing and improving our understanding of our world. Harnessed to the overarching goals of product science, it tell us what to do when you don’t know what to do.
